What Is the OptiFine Mod
OptiFine is an add-on for Minecraft that is designed to improve the gaming experience for players by making minor but thoughtful changes to the game’s graphics and performance. This mod was created by sp614x for the Java version of the game in an effort to optimize Minecraft for low-end PCs. Here’s a list of what you can do with OptiFine:
Increase in-game FPS (Frames Per Second) and texture-smoothening.Add shader packs and customize textures and animations. Introduce dynamic lightning so that light-emitting objects such as torches glow while equipped in any hand. When thrown, torches also dimly light up the surrounding area.Add V-Sync to synchronize the game’s FPS and the refresh rate of your monitor. Add anti-aliasing to smoothen jagged lines.
The list doesn’t stop there, as the mod also implements minor changes that aren’t noticeable on their own, but work together to provide a better vanilla experience with the game. Talking about system requirements, OptiFine works smoothly regardless of your PC’s specifications. In other words, if your computer is able to run Minecraft, then it should be able to support the weight of the mod as well. However, OptiFine is not available for the Bedrock version of the game, so you can only run it for your Java Minecraft world.
